Dyersburg State Gazette posted January 21, 1974 W. B. Evans W. B. "Mark" Evans, age 75, died Friday afternoon at his residence of Park Street in Newbern. He was a retired Railroad employee. Funeral Services were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock in the Ivy Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Walker officiated, the burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. Pallbearers were Tom Evans, Brunelle Evans, Joe Evans, Otis Lynn West, J. W. Beasley, and Joe Smith. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Evans is survived by one son, Norman Ray Evans of Chicago; four sisters, Mrs. Mack Beasley of Linden, Mrs. W. O Dunahoo, Mrs. Otis West, and Mrs. Howard Adams, all of Newbern; two brothers, R. T. Evans of Newbern and James M. Evans of Humboldt; on granddaughter, Mrs. Gary Swims of Davenport, Iowa; and a great-granddaughter, Tammy Renee Swims. |
