May 6, 1947 Dyersburg State Gazette MRS. DUNAVANT DIES LAST NIGHT Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Fowler Dies At Millington Home Mrs. Eva Fowler Dunavant, twenty-five year wife of Earl Dunavant of Millingon and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Fowler was found dead at seven forty-five o'clock on Monday night at her home. Funeral services will be at two o'clock at the First Methodist Church here, conducted by Reverend Steadman Bagby. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Rites will be at Millington at ten o'clock on Wednesday morning at the Methodist Church, Reverend John M. Jenkins, pastor there will officiate. Mrs. Dunavant had been suffering from a severe nervouse condition since the birth of her last child five months ago. Born Here A native of Dyersburg, she lived here until her marriage six and one half years ago. She was graduated from Dyersburg High School where she was an honor student and took an active part in athletics. She was chosen as a member of an All-Star basketball team during her high school years. A member of the Methodist Church, Mrs. Dunavant was active worker in Millington. Survivors other than her husband and parents and her infant daughter Carol June, a five year year old son, Raymond Earl Dunavant, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Howell of Memphis and Mrs. Robert Padilla of San Francisco, three brothers, Walter Fowler, Jr. Douglas Fowler and Bill Joe Fowler all of Dyersburg. The many friends of Mrs. Dunavant and her family heard of her death with the deepest of regret, she was well-remembered her for her kindness and sweet disposition and in the town where she lived the past few years as a loved and respected citizen. |
