Dyersburg State Gazette July 23, 1973 George Davis Funeral rites for George Evan Davis of Tiptonville were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Tiptonville. The Reverend Gree officiated and burial was in Tiptonville City Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. Davis, age 79, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by eight daughters; Mrs. Ruby Vincent of Tiptonville, Mrs.Ludie Robinson of St. Charles, Missouri, Mrs. Bonnie Jacobs of Martin, Mrs. Martha Glut of Des Plains, Illinois, Mrs. Linda Carnilus of Savannah, Mrs. Wanda Hill, Mrs. Ruth Collins, and Mrs. Juanita Byarn, all of Union City; three sons, George Davis of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenneth Davis and James Davis, both of Union City; five sisters, Mrs.Louella Searcy of Tiptonville, Mrs. Elise Burton of Chicago, Mrs. Polly Boockwell, Mrs. Fannie Simmons, Mrs. Etta Davis, all of Union City; one brother, Clifford Davis of Tiptonville; 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |
