RITES HERE FOR TRAFFIC VICTIMS

Combined Services For Two Women and Two Young Girls

Combined funeral services will be held here for four members of a Bogota community family who were fatally injured in a two-car collision on rain-slick Highway 78 shortly after two o'clock yesterday afternoon.

The services for the two somen and two young girls will be held at two o'clock tomorrow, Wednesday, at Curry's Chapel here. The Reverend Leonard Ballinger will officiate and burial will be in Neeley's Chapel Cemetery on the Nauvoo to Lenox road. J. W. Curry and Son will have charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mandy Schofield Climer was 60 and the widow of Will Climer, who died in 1957. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Schofield.

She is survived by seven sons, Pete Climer, Route 1 Newbern, Johnny Climer, Jimmy Climer, Duane Climer, Jerry Climer, Gene Climer, all at home at Bogota, and James Maness, Route 1 Newbern; a sister Mrs. Ida Vernon, Trimble; and 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. Rosie Climer Walker, 26, was the daughter of the late Will and Mandy Schofield Climer. Her survivors are the seven brothers.

Norvella Ann Walker, five and a half, was the daughter of the late Mrs. Rosie Climer Walker and Ernest Walker of West Virginia. Her only immediate survivor is her father.

Anita Rose Walker, four, was the daughter of the late Rosie Climer Walker and Ernest Walker of West Virginia. Her only immediate surviror is her father.

FIFTH MEMBER OF FAMILY DIES

Four Others Killed Instantly in Wreck, Jimmy Climer Today

The fifth member of a Bogota family died here early today as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile collsion on Hwy 78 on Monday.

Jimmy Climer, 20-year-old Bogota grocery clerk, died at five o'clock this morning at Parkview Hospital here. His mother, Mrs Mandy Schofield Climer; his sister, Mrs. Rosie Climer Walker, and two of his nieces, Anita Walker, four and Novella Walker five and a half, were killed instantly in the crash.

Besides Jimmy Climer, four other persons were hurt in the wreck, including two of his brothers, Jerry Climer, 15, and Duane Climer, 18. Others hurt were Mrs. Doris Childress, 39, and Mrs. Shaw Ann Cook, 24, both of Ridgely. Jerry Climer and Duane Climer have both been dismissed.

Only Mrs. Childres is still at Parkview Hospital here with Mrs. Cook being carried to a memphis hospital on the night of the accident.

Funeral services for Jimmy Climer will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at Curry's Chapel. The Reverend leonard Ballinger, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Neeley's Chapel Cemetery.

Born in Dyer county, Climer was the son of the late Will and Mandy Scofield Climer. He was a clerk at the Allen Walker Grocery at Bogota.

He is survived by six brothers, Pete Climer, Route 1 Newbern, Johnny Climer, Duane Climer, Jerry Climer and Gene Climer all of Bogota, and James Maness, Route 1, Newbern.

FOUR MEMBERS OF FAMILY DIE IN COLLISION

Two Other Persons Critical, Three in Serious Condition

Four member of a Dyer County family died in a traffic accident Monday afternoon.

Killed in a two-car crash on U. S. 78 north of here were, Mrs. Mandy Climer 60, her daughter, Mrs. Rosie Walker, 26 and Mrs. Walker's two daughters, Novella Ann 5 and Anita Rose, 4 all of Bogota.

Injured in the car in which the victims were riding were three of Mrs. Climer's sons, Jimmy 20, listed in critical condition at Parkview Hospital here; Jerry 15 and Duane, 18, both in serious condition.

Also injured were Mrs. Doris Childress, 39, driver of the other car, and Mrs. Shaw Ann Cook 34, both of Ridgely. Mrs. Cook was listed in critical condition in a Memphis hospital. Mrs. Childress was in serious condition.

Shefiff John Cribbs said the convertable in which the four persons killed were riding "just flew all to pieces." He said six of the seven persons in the car were thrown from the vehicle.

Cribbs quoted a witness, Edward McCullum of Memphis as saying the car driven by Jimmy Climer went out of control on the bluff just south of the Obion River Bridge and skidded sideways into the southbound car driven by Mrs. Childress.

Investigators said the accident occurred in light rain showers.

Note: Mandy Climer was the daughter of George Schoolfield and Jennie Brimm and the widow of William Moody Climer.
