TUESDAY AFTERNOON JUNE 13TH, 1916

UNION CITY, TENN. JUNE 12--Attorney General D. J. CALDWELL died this morning after a lingering illness of some weeks. Death came quietly to him in his home on Main Street, surrounded by his family and relatives. Gen. CALDWELL was born and reared near FREEMONT, a country village near Reelfoot Lake in this county. Besides his wife, who was Miss ELLA CLOAR of Freemont, Mr. CALDWELL is survived by five children, Misses ANNIE LAURA CALDWELL and PAULINE CALDWELL, of Union City and Nashville, MARTHA CALDWELL, HAROLD CALDWELL, GERALD CALDWELL; and one sister, Mrs. MARY REEVES; three brothers, I. J. CALDWELL, CHARLES CALDWELL, and ALBERT CALDWELL, all of Union City.
