Dyersburg State Gazette Monday, January 10, 1966 Archie O. Bane Dies Sunday, 97 Ninety-seven-year-old Archie Obe Bane, lifelong Dyer countian and retired farmer of the Midway Route, Finley, died at Parkview Hospital here at 8:45 o'clock Sunday morning. Born in Dyer county and a lifelong resident, Mr. Bane was the husband of Alice Bane, who proceeded him in death in June, 1922. Funeral services for Mr. Bane were held at two o'clock this afternoon, Monday, at Curry's Chapel. The Reverend Marvin Presley officiated and burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Edward Bane, J. C. Bane, J. L. Bane, Doyle Bane, Dalton Roby, Archie Criswell and Mike Vandergrift. J. W. Curry and Son had charge of arrangements. He is survived by four sons, Bill Bane, Frank Bane, Thomas Bane and Issac Bane, all of Dyer county; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Roby and Mrs. Edna Criswell, both of Dyersburg, and Mrs. Pauline Vandergrift, Memphis; 31 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. |
