STATE GAZETTE SENTATOR BROWNLOW is apposed to a feature of the civil rights bill, which mixes the races in schools and thinks very properly that it would destroy the Public School interest in Tennessee and other states. IT IS SAID THAT, in response to numerous petitions, the Hon. , B. H. HILL will cecome a candidate for congress in the Night Congressional District of Georgia. The Atlants thinks Mr. HILL, like Mr. STEPHENS will have a "walk-over. " $25 REWARD--Escaped from my works on the 25th of February, 1874, a white prisoner by the name of Charles MASON. He is about 24 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches high, light complexion, with blur eyes;spare made and rather good looking. He also has a bad sore on his left forefinger. OUR POST OFFICE--Postmaster HUGHES has sent from the Dyersburg post office money order department, for two months just ended, the amount of $10,000, and during that time, he paid out $2,857. PROF. GOODLOE, OF CROCKETT COUNTY, will deliver an address in Dyersburg this morning at 10 o'clock. He will handle his subject well, whatever it may be. THE FORKED RIVER is out of its banks, and the people in the bottom are preparing for an overflow from the Mississippi. THE FIRST--Mr. Bert TIGRETT announces in to-day's State Gazette that he is a candidate for the office of Tax Collector. Bert has been in office long enough to become familiarized with county affairs, and if elected he will make a good Tax Collector. MR. HICK DOYLE--has declared himself a candidate for Register of Dyer County. He is a good businessman, writes a real John Hancock-sort-of-hand and if elected, would discharge the duties of the office in the most acceptable manner. DANVILLE IS DEAD. Mr. COKER tells us so. Danville was a good dog, with a long nose and short tail. Danville wouldn't eat cornbread, but he everlastingly went for flour fixings.
