L M WILLIAMS vs Bob BURKETT and Will McDEARMON, judgement for plaintiff and property in replevin ordered sold to satisfy debt and cost. F M DAVIS vs P W WILSON, judgement for plaintiff and defendants land ordered sold subject to homestead. W L LITTLETON vs J W BAKER, plaintiff's suit dismissed for lack of satisfactory prosecution bond. Mayor of Newbern vs Will HURT violating city ordinance, suit dismissed on motion and ordinance pronounced void. CRIMINAL: Buck ISHAM, larceny, acquitted on plea of insanity. Geo. CLARK, Will CLARK, John CLARK, Henry DOYLE and Lem PRUIETT, larceny; Geo. CLARK, Will CLARK, and Lem PRUETT were aquitted while Henry DOYLE anf John CLARK were given one year in the pen. Lum PENNINGTON, larceny, defendant acquitted. J M SMITH, malicious cutting, continued till next court. Albert FOWKLES, larceny, defendant acquitted. Dave CONNEL, malicious shooting, not guilty. Dora CONNEL, carrying a pistol, not guilty.

TRUSTEE'S SALE--Under, and by virtue of a certain Deed of Trust, recoeded in Conveyance Book No.3, page 238, et seq., in the Register's office of Dyer County, Tenn., executed by J D PIERCE to me, as Trustee, to secure the payment to the American Building, Loan and Tontine Savings Association, of certain indebtedness therein mentioned, and at the request of the holder of said indebtness, I will, default having been made in said Deed of Trust, on Saturday, May the 2nd, 1891 at 11 o'clock, at the North door of the Courthouse, in the town of Dyersburg, Tenn., offer for sale at Public Auction, and sell for cash, to the higgest bidder, a certain tract of land in the 7th Civil District of Dyer and State of Tennessee, described as follows, to wit: Beginning at Geo. W. PIERCE's Southwest corner, running thence East with said PIERCE's South line one hundred and thirty poles to a stake; Thence South with J W PARR's line 130 poles to an ash tree; Thence West 130 poles to a cottonwood (FOWKLES' Southwest corner, thence North with said FOWKLES' line; 130 poles to a stake, the beginning, containing 106 acres, more or less. Equity of redemption is waived in this Deed of Trust.The title is believed to be perfect, but I will sell and convey as Trustee only. R J BLACK, Trustee Dyersburg, Tenn. March 25, 1891.

PERSONAL MENTION--Granger LATTA is at home sick. F A BOLING has gone East for goods. Mr. John SEAT visited the home folks at Trenton this week. Squire J P BRAMLEY, of Carroll County, was in town yesterday. Miss Laura SCOTT has returned from an extended visit to Trenton. Miss Stella FERGUSON has returned home from school at Nashville. Mr. Sam WOODARD, of Midle Tennessee is clerking for RICHARDS, HAMILTON & Co. Mrs. Alice NEAL and little Carolyn are visiting Memphis, the guests of Mr. C E CROOK & wife. Misses Lou CARSON, Ella YANCEY and Dora WALLACE, of Lauderdale county, are visiting Miss Annie SAMPSON. Mr.John WILSON and wife, after a brief visit to Dyersburg, have returned to their country villa at Hansford. Maj. A R HALL has returned from the big cities, where he bought stock of spring and summer goods. Mr. Frank THOMAS, a former citizen of Dyer County, now living at Stovall, Texas, is visiting here. Humboldt Leader; Horace STILWELL, of Dyersburg, an old Humboldt boy, mingled with friends here. Miss Eva DOYLE will return from Washington City today, accompanied by the wife of Lt. Bob DOYLE, of the Navy. Mrs. Montie FOSTER is still dangerously ill, and Dr. Floyd FERGUSON and wife, have returned from Florida to nurse her back to health. Newbern Tennessean: Miss Maggie WICKERSHAM, a little beauty of Dyersburg, is visiting Miss Callie BEECH this week. Ed says no more "skursions" for him. Lebanon Observer: Miss Fannie FAKES, of Dyersburg, is visiting the Misses FAKES on Spring street. DANIELS & WOOLEN are a new Dyersburg firm. --first class too, for it is composed of James L DANIELS and Roger WOOLEN. They are in the timber business. Rockwell, Texas, Success: Mr. Joe Pickett WILLIAMS, of Dyersburg, Tenn., son of Sol WILLIAMS, of Lebanon, Tenn., was here this week. He is a nephew of Hon. E B PICKETT, of Texas, chairman of the committee that drafted the Constitution of the State in 1875. Joe's grandfather, James WILLIAMS, was one of the best known men in Wilson Co., Tenn., by reason of being the father of 27 children.
