Oct 11, 1867 at 8½ O'clock AM This Indenture made this tenth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty Seven between Henry C. Williamson of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee of the one part and James B. Ferguson of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Williamson for and in consideration of Ten Hundred and seventy Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Ferguson the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given, granted bargained aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said Ferguson his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece of land or parcel situated lying and being in the county of Dyer, State of Tennessee, Part of Isaac Sampsons 643 Acre Grant Beginning at a Stake, John H. Christies South East corner, on the East boundary of the grant running thence south 87 poles to a stake & pointers, Thence North with W. L. Carters line and passing his North East corner 42 ½ poles to a stake Thence east 1 1/2o North 36 poles to a stake Blozabella Williams South East corner of the ten acres, Thence North 1 1/2o West 44 ¾ poles to a stake in John H. Christies South boundary line, Thence East with his line to the beginning, Containing fifty three and one half acres be the same more or less. To Have and to hold the aforesaid land, with all and singular, the rights, profits, emoluments, hereditaments and appertenances in and to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said James B. Ferguson, his heirs and assigns forever and the said Henry C. Williamson for himself, his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with said Ferguson his heirs or assigns that he is lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises that the same are free from all encumbrances that he hath a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Ferguson as aforesaid, and that the before granted land and premises, he will warrant and forever defend against the right, title, interest or claim of all and every person whomsoever.
