DJ Williamson Admn of Z B Phillips To – Deed for 200 Acres Isaac Sampson Registered March 5th, 1857 S D Whitten R. D. C. This Indenture made and entered into this 5th day of March in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Seven by and between D. J. Williamson Administrator of Zacheus B. Phillips of the one part and Isaac Sampson of the other part both of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said Williamson for and in Consideration of the some of One Thousand Dollars paid to said Phillips in his life time and the further sum of One hundred and sixty dollars paid by order of said Williamson since the death of said Phillips and in accordance with the title Bond entered into by said Phillips in the words and figures following to wit – Know all men by these presents that Z. B. Phillips of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee am held and firmly bound unto Isaac Sampson of the County & State aforesaid in the sum of five hundred dollars well and truly to be paid I bind myself my heirs & [?]/ The consideration of the above obligation is such that whereas the said Phillips has this day bargained and sold to the said Isaac Sampson a certain tract of land lying in Dyer County on the North side of Obion River in the 9th Range & 5th section Beginning at a Hickory and pointers the South West corner of the M D Fiser extention entry thence West one hundred and sixty poles to a small elm and a large oak pointer tence North two hundred poles to a large gun and pointers thence East one hundred and sixty poles to a stake in said Fisers line thence south with the same two hundred poles to the beginning & being Grant 9054 on the following conditions to wit for the sum of two hundred and sixty dollars. One Hundred in note on Meek Boyd decd and the said Sampsons note for one hundred and sixty dollars due 1st January next Nov of the said Phillips shall make or cause to be made a food and sufficient title to said land to the said Sampson when all of the above mentioned payments are well and truly made then the above obligation to be void and of non effect otherwise in full force. This 25th day of June 1853. Signed Sealed and Delivered ZB Phillips {Seal} The said Williamson has bargained and sold and doth hereby transfer and convey unto the said Isaac Sampson his heirs and assigns the before recited tract of land with the appurtenances there unto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Sampson and heirs and assigns forever and the said Williamson on behalf of the said Phillips doth covenant and agree with the said Sampson his heirs and assigns that the title of the before recited lands he will warrant and defend against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. In Witness of the said Williamson has hereunto set his hand and seat the date above.
