State of Tennessee This indenture made this Twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five by and between DJ Williamson of the County of Dyer State of Tennessee of the first part and Charles Rudder of the same County and State of the second part Witnesseth That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of Eight Hundred

and Eighty five Dollars paid to David Dickerson half the original purchase money and Three Hundred Dollars now paid to the said Williamson for the advantage said Rudder gets in the division the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold and doth by these presents alien Transfer deliver en??ff Convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns in f? simple absolute the following piece parcel or tract of land situate lying and being in the Fourth Civil District of Dyer County State of Tennessee in the 13th Surveyors District Eighth Range and Third Section Part of Hardy Munfrees 987 Acre Grant – Beginning at a Dogwood the North West corner of said Grant and the North corner of 590 acres heretofore sold by David Dickinson to Williamson and Rudder jointly but deeded to Williamson alone Running thence South with the West boundary of the same 232 poles to 2 Elms & pointers the South West corner of said 590 acres Thence East 232 Poles to a Sweet Gum & Pointers the dividing corner between Williamson & Rudder made by ZB Phillips about 184 Thence North 116 poles to a Hickory & Pointers Thence North 24o West 124 poles to a stake with a Hickory & two Dogwood Pointers Thence West 207 ½ Poles to the Beginning – Containing by estimation Three Hundred and Twenty Seven& a half acres more or less – to have and to hold the said Land with all and Singular the rights Profits ventures, issues ways woods waters meadows privileges emoluments tenements hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in anywise assertaining to the only proper use benefit and be hoof of him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever – And the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and Administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the aforesaid land and bargained premises hath a good right to convey the same and that the same is free from all incumbrances and that he will Warrant and forever defend the same unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all persons Claiming under him the said Williamson his heirs or assigns. In Witness whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
