J. A. Williamson To} Deed of Trust J. F. Child Recd July 6th, 1868 at 10 o'clock AM S. H. Silsby Register I, John A. Williamson of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee in consideration of the sum on One dollar to me in hand and the other considerations herein after mentioned have this day bargained and sold to J. F. Child the following property to Wit. One bag Have about Eight Years Old sixteen hands high, the same I got from F. T. Simmons, he from H. Williamson & he from H. B. Ferguson, in 5th civil District of Dyer County, Tenn. To have and to hold the above described property to his heirs and assigns forever (in trust) for the following purposes. I am indebted to Webb Child & Co. by promissory note of June 30, 1868 due one day after date for the sum of $50.00 (Fifty Dollars). Now, if the before mentioned debt is not paid off, or satisfactorily arranged by at least the 25th day of October 1868 then my said Trustee is hereby authorized to sell the above property at Public Sale, for cash, to the highest bidder, after giving at least ten days notice by advertisement, at the Court House Door in the town of Dyersburg, and two other public places in Dyer County or privately as he may deem best and to apply the proceeds of such sale first to the paying the expenses of this Trust and then to the payment of the above enumerated debts in the [???], as [??? ???] preferrment, in which they are before mentioned in this deed, and to hold the balance of the proceeds if any there be, subject to my order, at the same time I am to keep possession of the before mentioned, take all proper care of it deliver the same to my said Trustee. In Witness, Whereof, I have affixed my hand and seal this 4th day of July 1868 in in presence of D. C. Hibbitt John A. Williamson {SEAL} State of Tennessee} Dyer County } Personally appeared before me Thos. H. Benton County Clerk of said County D. C. Hibbitt and J. J. Foosher subscribing witnesses to the written deed who being duly sworn depose & say that they are personally acquainted with the bargainor and that he signed and acknowledged the same in their presence on the day it bears date.
