I Henry C. Williamson have this day bargained and sold and do hereby convey unto
Thomas H. Benton and his heirs and assigns forever for the consideration of Thirteen
Hundred and forty three Dollars and seventy five cents $1343.75 to me cash in hand paid
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a certain piece or parcel of land lying and
being situate in the 4th civil district of Dyer County & State of Tennessee, being a part of
the DJ Williamson tract of land and bounded as follows to Wit, Beginning at a stake the
South East corner of a tract of land sold by said Henry C. Williamson to E. A. Dunevant
with poplar and two Black gum pointers running thence South 77 poles and 9 links to a
stake in the Samuel P. Williamsons North boundary line, with small Dogwoods and black
Gum pointers, thence with his North line west 66 poles to a stake and 2 poplar pointers in
the original Charley Rudders East line, thence North with said Rudders East line to T. H.
bentons S. E. corney, and with said Bentons East line, poles to E. A. Dunevants South
West corner a Stake with White Oak & Walnut pointers. Thence East with said
Denevants South Boundary line 95 poles and 20 links to the beginning, containing by
estimation 38 acres 1 road and 23 poles to have and to hold the above described land and
the appurtenences thereunto belonging or in anways appertaining to the said Benton his
heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said Thos. H. Benton that I am lawfully
possessed of said land, and have a good right to convey the same and that the same is
unencumbered. I bind myself my heirs & to forever warrant and defend the title to said
land against the lawful claims of all persons whatever claiming. In witness whereof I
have hereunto subscribed my name and seal this 15th day of November 1866.

Personally appeared before me Jesse Clark Chairman of the county court of said county
Henry C. Williamson the bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted and
acknowledged the execution of the foregoing Deed for the purposes therein contained.

written with some grammatical errors. The number of poles is left out in a couple places.
