To} Deed One acre

Recd October 16th 1866 8 ½ Oclock AM
We Benjamin L. Dolsen, Elizabeth his wife and Levi M. Stevens his wife for the
consideration of Two Thousand Dollars to said Stevens be paid GW Gause on the 1st day
of January next for which he has given his note dated this day, have bargained and sold
and do hereby alien, transfer, convey and confirm into the said GW Gause and his heirs
forever in fee simple, absolute, the following piece or parcel of land near Dyersburg,
Dyer County Tennessee to Wit) Part of B. McCulloch 800 Acre Survey, immediately
North of and adjoining Hales Addition to the Town of Dyersburg. Beginning at the South
West Corner of the low owned by the heirs of JM Latta running Thence South 11 4/5
poles to a stake thence East 13 ½ poles to a stake thence North 11 4/5 poles to the South
East Corner of the Latta Lot Thence West 13 ½ poles to the beginning containing by
estimation one acre be the same more or less. To have and to hold the same to the said
GW Gause and his heirs forever with all and singular the rights, profits, emoluments,
tenements and appertenences thereunto belonging. And we covenant and bind ourselves
to warrant and forever defend the title of said property to said GW Gause furnishing all
the materials for said plastering, except lathing which said B. L. Dolsen shall furnish, and
the possession shall be delivered to the said Gause at any time after that date or ten days
notice. In testimony of all which the said B. L. Dolsen and wife and Levi M. Stevens
trustee by deed and by Chancery Court for the separate use of said EM Dolsen have
hereunto set our hands and seals this 16th day of October 1866

Personally appeared before me T. H. Benton clerk of the county court of said county Ben
L. Dolsen, Elizabeth M. Dolsen, his wife and Levi N. Stevens the bargainors with whom
I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the said Deed
freely voluntarily and understandingly without any compulsion or constraint on the part
of the said husband for the purposes therein expressed. Witness my hand at office this
16th day of October 1866.
