Know all men by these presents that I John R. Robbins of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee for
and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar and the other Consideration herin after mentioned have this
day bargained and sold to J. W. Echols of the County and State aforesaid a certail Sorrell Horse Six years
old Bald faced and no brand perceivable. Conditioned however that whereas the said J. W. Echols has
endorsed a Note made parable to himself in order bearing even date herewith for the sum of fifteen
Dollars and due the 1st day of January next Now if I shall pay said note at maturity with all interst and
cost that may accrue thereon Then this deed shall be void but if on the contrary I shall fail to pay said
Note with all costs or interest that may accrue thereon Then the said Echols May as Trustee after
advertising by posting written advertisements on the court house door and at three other public places in
this County proceed to sell said Horse at public vendue tot eh highest bidder for cash in hand and apply
the proceeds first to the payment and satisfaction of said Note Interest Cost & @ Second to payment and
Satisfaction of any expense attending said Sale & @ and to pay over to me the balance if any there be.

Dyer County) Personally appeared before me Robert M. Tarrant Clerk of the County Court of said
County John R. Robbins the bargainor before named with whom I am personally acquainted and
acknowledged the execution of the foregoing Deed of Conveyance for the purposes therein contained.
Witness my hand at office in Dyersburg this 20th day of December 1852.
