LAND PETITION PARRISH vs ADAMS

Be it remembered that on this 6th day of April 1852 came on this cause for further
hearing before the worshipful County Court, On the Petition. Answer and proof ,
when it appeared to the Court by proof that the said ISHAM PARRISH, JOHN
ROBERTSON and MEENDA his wife and JESSE ROBERT and ELIZABETH
his wife, who were heirs of AUGUSTA PARRISH, late Dyer County, dec'd have not
been seen or heard of in this State for more than twenty years: It is therefore presumed
by the Court that they are dead: without issue and that the Petitioners assignees to wit:
The said DAVID PARRISH, NELSON PARRISH, MARY SHELTON, JOHN PAYNE
and SUSAN, his wife, and the said Petitioner WATSON PARRISH, are entitled to
one-eighteenth each of the Hundred acre tract of land described in the petition: And
that the said JACOB DAVIS, GABRIELLA DAVIS, SARAH FRANCES DAVIS
and JOHN DAVIS, heirs and representatives of the said NATHAN E. DAVIS and
FRANCIS, his wife, are entitled to one eighteenth of the said tract of land jointly:
And the said GEORGE W. ADAMS is entitled to six-ninths or two thirds of said
tract of land: It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that P.C.
LEDAINGER, JOHN C. MURRY, LEMUAL W. SORRELL, JAMES M. MURRY
and THOMAS MILLER be appointed commissioners- And that they or any three
of them, being first duly sworn, divide the land described in the Petition and allot
to the several parties the portion to which they are entitled according to quantity and
value: And that they report their proceedings herein under their hands and seals
to the next term of this Court- till the coming in of which report all other matters are
Reserved.
