Deed to ISSAC E. MACKLIN
Reg. Oct. 4, 1847 Dyer Co., TN.
State of Tennessee, Dyer Co., TN. This indenture made the 4th day of October 1847
by and between DAVID PARRISH, MARY SHELTON, JOHN PAINE (PAYNE)
and SUSAN his wife of the County and State aforesaid of the first part and ISSAC
E. MACKLIN of the County of Haywood and State aforesaid the second part witnesseth
that the said DAVID PARRISH. MARY SHELTON, JOHN PAYNE and SUSAN,
his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Forty Three Dollars
to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted
bargained sold and conveyed unto the said ISSAC E. MACKLIN a certain piece or
parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee
on the south side of the North Fork of Forked Deer River butted and bounded as follows
to wit: beginning at a stake and two poplar pointers running thence east one hundred
and thirty nine and two tenths poles to a stake a white oak pointer thence south one
hundred and fifteen poles to a stake two white oaks and gum pointers thence west one
hundred and thirty nine and two tenths to an elm a poplar and red oak pointers on
GEORGE D. ETES east boundary line to the north of his line to the beginning
containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less and being part of
sixteen hundred acres survey entered in the name of JOHN G. BLONT. To have and
hold with all and singular the rights profits hereditaments and appurtehances in and
to the same belonging or in any wise pertaining to the only proper use of him the said
ISSAC E. MACKLIN, his heirs or assigns and the said DAVID PARRISH, MARY
SHELTON, JOHN PAYNE and SUSAN his wife for themselves, their heirs and assigns
do convenant and agree to and with the said ISSAC E. MACKLIN, his heirs and that
the before recited lands and bargained premises they will warrant and forever defend
against the right title interest of claim of all and every person or persons whatever but
this deed only conveys our interest in the above described tract of land as heirs of law
Of AUSTIN PARRISH deceased. In witness wherefore we have hereunto set our hands

Personally appeared before me , JAMES H. DOYLE, Clerk of the County Court
of the said County, DAVID PARRISH, MARY SHELTON, JOHN PAYNE and
SUSAN, his wife, to within named bargainors with who I am personally acquainted
and who acknowledge the execution of the within deed of conveyance for the purpose
therein contained and the said SUSAN PAYNE having appeared before me privately
and apart from said husband acknowledged that she executed the within deed on her
part voluntarily and understandingly and of her own free will without any compulsion
or restraint on the part of her said husband. Witness my hand and seal this 5th day of
