State of North Carolina No. 125 To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings. Know Ye that We for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Pounds for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our treasury by Archibald Murphy - - have given and Granted and by the presents do give and grant unto the said Archibald Murphy a tract of Land containing three thousand two hundred and ten acres. Lying and being in the Western District on the Obion River and North branches of the Forked Deer River Beginning at a Sycamore and Boxelder marked HR on the bank of a creek Benjamin Smiths North West and Benjamin McCullocks North East corner runs north one hundred and sixty chains to a poplar Dogwood and buck marked HR thence west Two hundred chains and seventy links to a stake thence south one hundred and sixty chains to a stake -

Thence East to the Beginning --- as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods water mines minerals hereditaments and appertenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining To Hold to the said Archibald Murphry his heirs and assigns yielding and paying to us sums of such money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct. Provided always that the said Archibald Murphy shall cause this Grant to be Registered in the Registers office of our said Western District within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect.

In testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent and our great seals to be hereunto affixed Witness Samuel Johnston Esqr. Our Governor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Fairfield the eight day of July in the XIIIth year of our independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.
