Samuel R. Latta To} Deed Town Lot T. W. Neal Recd October 13th 1866 7 Oclock AM L. H. Silsby Know all men by these presents that I, Samuel R. Latta for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty Dollars to me paid by Tom W. Neal as follows $116 66 2/3 / 100 twelve months from this date $116 66 2/3 / 100 twelve months from this date $116 66 2/3 / 100 two years from this date $116 66 2/3 / 100 three years from this date for which sum the said Neal has this day executed to me his promissory notes each bearing intense from date have this day bargained and sold to the Tom W. Neal a certain piece or parcel of ground situated in the town of Dyersburg Tennessee, being the Northern part of Lot No 1 on the original plan of said Town situated on the Eastern side of the Public square, and bounded and measuring as follows, Beginning at the North West corner of said lot running thence South with the Public Square Twenty (20) feet thence East one Hundred & Twenty (120) feet to an ally, Thence North twenty (20) feet Thence to the beginning. I hereby covenant with the said Neal to warrant and forever defend the title to the said lot of ground to him the said Neal his heirs and assigns & representatives against the legal claims of all persons whatsoever. A special lien is hereby reserved upon said lot of ground to secure the payment the above described notes wheather in the hands of said Latta or his assigns. Witness my hand and seal this 12th day of October 1866. US Revenue Stamps affixed .50 L. R. Latta {Seal} State of Tennessee} Dyer County} Personally appeared before me T. H. Benton clerk of the county court of said county L. R. Latta the within names bargainor, with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the foregoing Deed of conveyance for the purposes therein contained.
