John Payne & David Parrish

JOHN PAYNE-DAVID PARRISH Deed 1842
Registered 14 Sep. 1842 Dyer Co., TN.

This indenture made this 31st day of August 1842 between JOHN PAYNE of the County
0f the County of Dyer and the Sate of Tennessee of the one part and DAVID PARRISH
0f the County of Dyer & State of Tennessee of the other part witnessed that the said
JOHN PAYNE for and in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred Dollars did execute
to in him in hand by the said DAVID PARRISH the receipt where of is hereby
acknowledged I hath given , granted, bargained, sold and confirmed unto the said
DAVID PARRISH , his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land situated being
and living in the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee in the Waters of Parish
Creek in the Second Civil District of Dyer County bounded or follows -------(?)
Beginning at the south west corner of MARTIN ARMSTRONG's 5000 acres Grant
No. 162. East with his line three hundred & twenty poles to a white oak thence south
79 1/4 degrees west four hundred and forty five poles to a poplar tree thence north
66 ½ poles to a dogwood . From ROBERT REIDZ corner thence west with his line
20 ½ poles to T.G. POLKS , south east corner thence north west with his line, eighty
three poles to a white oak & ash thence east one hundred and fifty poles to a hickory
thence south to the beginning contained by estornatian (?) one hundred & ninty seven
acres more or less.

To have and to hold the aforesaid land until all and singular the right profits ------(?)
heredo ------ ------ (?) to the --- (?) proper and behalf of him , the said DAVID
PARRISH, his heirs forever and the said JOHN PAYNE for himself, his heirs, executor,
and administors to ---(?) do consent and agree with the said DAVID PARRISH his -(?)
That the before said land and bargained -in Will Warrant and forever defend against the
right title contrast or claim of all and every person whatsoever in witness. Thereof
the said JOHN PAYNE has hereto set his hand and offered his seal the day and year
above written .
