J. A. Williamson EtAl To} Deed Wm. N. McKnight Recd Feby 17th 1877 at 3 ½ O Clock PM John T. Boon, R.D.C. For and in consideration of One Thousand Dollars paid and to be paid as follows to wit: Four Thousand Dollars in Cash to receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged and six Hundred Dollars to be paid Twelve Months after the date hereof Which said Six Hundred Dollars is evidenced by these promissory Notes of this date and due Twelve Months after date for Two Hundred Dollars Each payable to W. H. Simpson administrator of the Estate of W. Y. Williamson Decd for the payment of Which said notes together With Interest thereon at the rate of 10% per annum after Maturity a lien is hereby specially retained on the hereinafter Conveyed land & premises – Now in Consideration of the premises aforesaid We have and Conveyed and by these Presents do alien transfer, Convey and Confirm unto Wm N. McKnight his heirs and assigns forever the following described tract or parcel of land to wit: Lot No 5 in the partition & Division of the D. J. Williamson Decd land being that lot assigned & given in said partition to W.. Y. Williamson Decd and by us inherited from him as his brothers & sisters Which said lot is Bartted and Bounded as follows Begins at a Red Oak, the North East Corner of Lot No. 2 running Thence North 120 Poles to a Sweet Gum & Hickory the North East Corner of the Original tract being the North West Corner of B. McCullochs 800 Acres, thence West 52 poles to a Mulberry & Ash with a Poplar and two Sweet Gums Pointers, the North East Corner of H. C. Williamson 2 Lots, 6 & 7, thence South with his line 120 poles to a stake & Red Oak pointers in the north line of Mary E. Williamson lot No 2, thence East with her lines 52 poles to the Beginning Containing by Estimation 39 acres to have & to hold untohim the said W. N. McKnight his heirs and assigns forever subject only to the lien for the payment of said notes & Int – drawn by said McKnight in favor of said Simpson Admr and We Covenant that we are lawfully of said land have a good perfect right to Convey at & we will warrant & defend the title to the same to the said Vender against the lawful Claims of all parties Whoever this 6th day of November 1876. Benton } State of Tennessee} Dyer County } Personally appeared before me Zach Watkins Clerk of the County Court of Said County J. A. Williamson, L. P. Williamson, H. C. Williamson, F. T. Simmons, and his wife Ma. E. Simmons S. P. Williamson and DJ Williamson the above named bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted and Who acknowledged the execution of the foregoing Deed. For the purposes therein Contained and the said named woman having also appeared before me privately and apart from the said husband F. T. Simmons acknowledged the execution of the same by her freely coluntarily and understandingly without any Compulsion or Constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein Contained Witness my hand at office Jany 30th 1877.
