State of Tennessee-Dyer County-This indenture made the twenty-ninth of October in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five between Haley Dunavant of the
one part and Abraham Dunavant of the other witness that for and in consideration of eight
hundred dollars secured to be paid by note the said Haley Dunavant hath this day bargained
and granted and sold and by these present doth bargain grant and sell to the said Abraham
Dunavant his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the
above mentioned county of Dyer in the 13th surveyors district third section and second range
two hundred and fifty acres being a part of a one thousand acre survey entered in the name of
John Miller and of grant 58 and one hundred acres entered in the name of Miller and piece
being in the whole three hundred and fifty acres more or less bounded on the east by M
Woodfin and Polke and Leech, and on the north by Butler McNary and Phillips. On the west
by John Foy, on the south by the Sharpe tract. With the said appurtenances and all the estate
right title claim and demand of him the said Haley Dunavant has in and to the above parcel
or tract of land of 350 acres more or less do hereby convey with all and singular the
premises and every part thereof to the said Abraham Dunavant his heirs and assigns forever
the said Haley Dunavant for himself his heirs &c doth forever warrant and defend to the said
Abraham Dunavant his heirs &c to the right title and interest in and to the above land from
all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness thereof I the said Haley Dunavant
hath this day affixed my hand and seal in the presence of &c this 29th October 1845.

A deed of conveyance of date the 29th October 1845 from Haley Dunavant to Abraham
Dunavant of a certain tract or parcel of land lying and in Dyer County and State of Tennessee
in the 13th Surveyors district 3rd section and 7th range two hundred and fifty acres being a part
of a one thousand acre survey entered in the name of John Miller and of grant 58 and one
hundred acres entered in the name of Miller and Pierce being in the whole three hundred and
fifty acres more or less was this day exhibited in open court and thereupon appeared the said
Haley Dunavant who acknowledged in open court that he executed the said deed for the
purpose therein contained in testimony whereof I Gordentia Wait Clerk of the said probate
court hereby set my hand and affixed the seal of my office at office in Holly Springs the 29th
day of October A. D. 1845

This deed is from the Dyer County Clerks office, Book E page 260. The microfilm of the
deed index was not clear and it may have been Book F as I gave both letters when I wrote.
It came to me in typed form, not hand written, and done on a typewriter with some bad keys.
I believe I have transcribed it accurately . I don't know what the "&c" means but that is
what is on the document and not an error in my typing. I would love to know the
relationship of Haley and Abraham if anyone who reads this knows.
