Fields & Whitson To – Deed Lewis Matheny Registered Feby 12, 1851 A. G. Ferguson Regr RD State of Tennessee Gibson County Know all men by these presents that we James Fields and J. D. Whison both of Gibson County and State of Tennessee for and in consideraton of the sum of ninety two dollars ____ cents to us in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold to Lewis Matheny of Dyer County and Stat aforesaid a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing thirty acres situated lying and being in the County of Dyer in the Mississippi bottom in Range ten and Section eight on the west bank of the Obion River granted to the said fields & Whitson by the State of Tennessee by 4156 & no of Entry 36 in Dyer County Beginning on the Bank of the Obion river at a Black gum Hickory and red bud 95 poles north and 766 poles East from the South East Corner to an extention to an 8 acre entry in the name of Jones & Stephens Running South Forty nine poles to a stake and pointers Thence West ninety eight poles to a stake & pointers Thence North forty nine poles to the Beginning with the hereditaments and appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with appurtenances to the Said Lewis Mathey his heirs and assigns forever – We bind our selves and our heirs Executors & administrators to defendthe title to said land against the lawful claims of all persons whatever.
