James Ferrell To} Deed 46 Acres Silas Kerr Recd for registration Nov 20th 1866 at 1 Oclock PM L. H. Silsby Register State of Tennessee Dyer County, I, James Ferrell of the County of Dyer State of Tennessee for and in consideration of the same of Eight Hundred and twenty eight Dollars $828.00 Two Hundred each, the remainder $628.00 on the 25th day of Dec 1867 my tract 92 Acres of land in Civil District No 5 Dyer County Tennessee & bounded as follows to Wit Beginning at a stake in the North Boundary line of 1000 Acres tract of of land belonging to A Freeman & Joel Nunn with Maple & Gum pointers, thence west with the original line 85 poles to a stake in said line with a Gum & Dogwood pointers thence 149 poles to a Sweet Gum, Black Gum, Elm & Red Oak pointers James Ferrell L. W. Conner, thence East 15 ½ poles to a stake one Gum, two Hickorys as pointers Labry Carrs North East Corner Thance South 45 poles to a stake Dogwood, Gum & Elm pointers thence East 63 2/3 poles to a stake white Oak & hornbeam pointers Miles Davis South West corner thence North5 poles to a stake with ash pointers, thence west 3 poles to a sweet gum with pointers thence North 194 (in all) poles to the beginning, containing by estimation 92 acres 18 poles be the same more or less to have and to hold the said land & possessions above mentioned & every part & parcel thereof to the said Silas Carr his heirs & Assigns and I do covenant with the said Carr that I am lawfully possessed of said land and have a good right to convey the same & that I will warrant & forever defend the title to the said land to the said Carr & his heirs & assigns forever. It is transcribed as written with some grammatical errors. The last name of Kerr is misspelled a couple times
