Monday October 1st 1849

Be it Remembered that a county court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg on the first Monday in October it being the first day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & forty Nine & in the 74th year of the American Independence.

Present and Presiding in said Court the Worshipful THOMAS J. CONNELL Chairman, A. B. STALCUP and SAMUEL McDAVID Esqrs quorum Justices. Present WILLIAM MILLER, CHRISTIAN COBB, THOMAS NASH, B. W. PERRY, H. N. JACKSON, J. F. SINCLAIR, J. F. PETTIJOHN, J. M. McCORKLE, H. P. STRAWN, SILAS FERRELL, S. WALKER Esquires Justices of said Court Zaccheus B. PHILLIPS Sheriff of said County & JAMES H. DOYLE Clerk of said Court when the following proceedings was had Towit:

Ordered by the Court that SAMUEL WALKER & ISAEU SAWYER be appointed commissioners, to superentend the Repairing of the Bridge across the Slough west of Frost's Old Mill on the Trenton Road.
