Be it Remembered that a County Court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg, on the first Monday in November it being the fourth day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty and the 75th year of American Independence. Present and holding said Court the Worshipfull THOMAS J. CONNELL Chairman, SAMUEL McDAVID and A. B. STALCUP quorum Justices, JOSEPH MICHELL & JOHN F. SINCLAIR Esquires Justices of said Court WILLIAM A. DAWSON Sheriff & JAMES H. DOYLE Clerk of said Court when the following proceedings were had
Issued 4th Novr 1850 Ordered by the court that GEORGE W. GIBSON be appointed overseer of that part of the Dyersburg Road... in place of DAVID GREEN resigned...
Issued 4th Novr 1850 On a Motion and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court here that JAMES WEBSTER has departed this life intestate it is therefore ordered by the Court that LOUISA S. WEBSTER be appointed Administratrix... with JAMES MARCHANT her security...
Ordered by the Court that ANDERSON DUKEY be appointed overseer of a Route Lately Reviewed, for a Road, from THOMAS PACEs to Reeds Creek...
This day ISAAC SAWYER administrator of the goods & Chattles Rights and credits of WILLIAM B. WOMACK deceased, made Return of a Supplemental Inventory of said Estate which was received by the Court & ordered of Record.
Issued 4th Novr 1850 Ordered by the Court that STEPHEN KING, MR. LUSCOMB, SAMUEL McDAVID, ALBERT G. FERGUSON & D. J. WILLIAMSON be appointed commissioners to Lay off & set aside a years provision for the Widow & Children of JOHN WYNNE deceased & that they being first duly sworn report to the next Term of this court.
Issued 4th Novr 1850 Ordered by the Court that JOHN B. PATE be appointed overseer of the Road from RANDLES ferry on the Obion River to MUHILLS landing on the Mississippi River...
This day JAMES H. DOYLE, who was appointed commissioner at the Last Term of this court to sell the land & negroes belonging to the Estate of LEMUEL BISSELL deceased & the negroes belonging to the Estate of GEORGE C. BOOTH deceased, came into open court here and entered into and acknowledged Bonds in both cased in the penal sum of Four thousand dollars each with HENRY WYNNE and THOMAS J. CONNELL Securities conditioned and payable as to Law directs.
Issued 4th Novr 1850 Ordered by the Court that CHRISTIAN S. COBB, THOMAS H. JOHNSON & WILLIAM MARCHANT be appointed Commissioners to lay off & set aside a years provision for the Widow & Children of JAMES WEBSTER deceased...
This day DAVID MEREWETHER came into open court here together with JAMES FIELDS & ALBERT G. FERGUSON, his securitys and Entered into and acknowledged Bond in the penal sum of Two Thousand dollars conditioned to provide a good & sufficent ferry Boat at his ferry on the Obion River, in this county & otherwise comply with the Statute in such cases made & provided &c.
Ordered that Court adjourn until Court in course.
