Be it Remembered that a county court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg on the first Monday in November it being the sixth day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & forty Eight & in the 73rd year of American Independence. Present and holding said Court the Worshipful THOMAS J. CONNELL Esq. Chairman, A. B. STALCUP, SAMUEL McDAVID Esquires quorum Justices of said court CHRISTIAN COBB, WILLIAM MILLER, B. W. PERRY, H. N. This day SOLOMON RICE was chosen and appointed Guardian of THOMAS H. LAMAN a minor orphan of this county whereupon came the said SOLOMIN RICE into open court here together with Z. B. PHILLIPS & LUKE LAMAN his securetys...
On a Motion and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that ANDREW HURLEY, late of this county, has departed this life intestate, It is therefore ordered by the court that AARON T. HURLEY be appointed administrator... together with MOSES HURLEY JR. & MOSES HURLEY SENR. his securities...
Issued 8th November 1848 This day WASHINGTON FERRELL produced here in open court the scalp of a Wolf over four months old & proved to the satisfaction of the court that he killed the same in Dyer County...
Issued 8th November 1848 Ordered by the court that SOLOMON RICE, THOMAS NASH, SEMUEL SORRELLS & S. SUDSBURY be appointed commissioners to Lay off and set aside a years provisions for the Widow & Children of ANDREW HURLEY deceased...
The Estate of ANDREW HURLEY deceased having been duly declared insolvent it is ordered that publication be made according to the statute in such cases made & provided.

Ordered by the Court that the Sheriff summons the following god & Lawful men of the body of Dyer to be and appear at the court House in the Town of Dyersburg, on the second Monday in February next then and there to serve as a viewer at the circuit court of said county Towit
Issued 6th November 1848 Ordered by the court that GEORGE BETTIS be and he is hereby appointed overseer of the Road leading from the Turnpike to the Haywood County Line... and that he have the following hands to work under his direction on said road Towit CALVIN WILLIAMS, JAMES WILLIAMS, E. D. STOKES, JOLLEY OLDS & ROBERT JOHNSONs hands...
