Be it Remembered that a county court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg on the first Monday in May it being the seventh day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & forty Nine & in the Seventy third year of the American Independence of the United Stated. Present and holding said Court the Worshipful THOMAS J. CONNELL Esquire, Chairman of said Court, SAMUEL McDAVID and ALEXANDER B. STALLCUP Esquires, quorum Justices, HENRY WYNNE, SILAS FERRELL, J. N. PIERCE, ISAAC SAWYER, THOMAS NASH, J. M. McCORKLE, H. P. STRAWN, & JOHN WYNNE, Esquires, Justices of this Court: Z. B. PHILLIPS Sheriff of said County and JAMES H. Issued 8th May 1849 Ordered by the Court that P. T. A. WALKER be appointed overseer of that part of the MICHELL Road between Dyersburg and the Skiff Branch instead of NATHANIEL BENTON resigned...
This day HENRY P. STRAWN one of the Justices of this Court came into open Court together with HENRY WYNN his security and entered into and acknowledged Bond in the penal sum of Five Hundred Dollars conditioned & payable as the law directs: Under the Act of Assembly giving Justices of the Peace jurisdiction of small offences &c.
This day HENRY WYNNE, HENRY FOWLKES and HENDERSON CLARK Commissioners appointed at the last Term of this Court to receive the Bridge to be built across Lewis Creek by M. C. SCOBY: reported that they had received said Bridge and agreed with said SCOBY on Fifty five Dollars...
This day SIMON P. HAWKINS administrator of the Estate of JOHN H. BREECE deceased, presented here in open Court an inventory and Account of Sales of said Estate which was received and ordered of record.

This day an account of one Hundred & Eight Dollars against the Estate of BENJAMIN SMITH Deceased & in favor of ELIZABETH was produced in court here & ordered to be paid by the Administrator of said Estate.
This day ISAAC SAWYER Administrator of B. SMITH Deceased returned a supplemental Inventory of said Estate which was received & ordered of record.
