Be it Remembered that a county court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg on the first Monday in July it being the third day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & forty Eight & in the 72nd year of American Independence. Present and holding said Court the Worshipfull THOMAS J. CONNELL Esquire Chairman of said court A. B. STALCUP, SAMUEL McDAVID, SILAS FERRELL, JOHN F. PETTYJOHN, BENJAMIN W. PERRY, HENRY WYNNE, WILLIAM FEATHERSTON & SAMUEL G. GILLESPIE, JEHEEL M. McCORKLE, ASA GRIFFIN, H. N. JACKSON & S. H. SNOW Esquires Justices of said court Z. B. Issued 4 July 1848 On a Motion to allow WILLIAM J. FETHERSTON Five Dollars for repairing of the Bridge across Reed Creek in 1848 one third of all the Justices of this court being present those voting for said allowance were Esquires CONNELL, McDAVID, PERRY, GRIFFIN, COBB, SNOW & FERRELL so paid allowance was made & ordered to be paid by the county Trustee.
This day SAMUEL McKNIGHT obtained Leave to Record his stock mark Towit a Smooth crop off of the Right & split & under bit in the Left Ear.
Issued 5 July 1848 On a Motion to allow EDWIN EUDALEY one Dollar & fifty cents for repairs to the court House...
This day JAMES W. SINGLETON who was duly Elected Constable of the 3rd civil district of this county on the 4th day of March Last came into open court here together with B. H. GRIFFIN, BENJAMIN W. PERRY & ASA GRIFFIN his securitys & entered into and acknowledged Bon in the penal sum of four Thousand Dollars conditioned and payable as the Law directs & was duly qualified.
Issued 5 July 1848 Ordered by the court that COLEMAN SPAIN overseer of a road have the following hand Towit ELIAS FULLER, JAMES NORTHINGTON, JOHN NORTHINGTON, STEPHEN WETHERS, WILLIAM WETHERS, ---N? PHILYANE?, ANDERSON DUKEY, WM. BIRD, JONATHAN SCOBY, HENRY LUNSFORD & JAMES HANAT--? and that they be released from all other roads.

Issued 5 July 1848 This day JAMES R. BELL produced in open court here the scalps of five wolves under four months old & proved to the satisfaction of this court that he killed the same in Dyer County five justices of this court being present it was ordered to be so certified to the comptroller of the Treasurer.
Issued 5 July 1848 Ordered by the court that B. W. PERRY be appointed to furnish READING CAMPBELL a Pauper of this county provisions &c to the amount of Ten dollars for the Ballance of the year 1848.

Issued 7 July 1848 Ordered by the court that the Sheriff summons the following good & Lawful men of the Body of Dyer to be and appear at the next term of the circuit court to be held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee to be holden at the court house in the Town of Dyersburg on the first Monday in October next then and there to serve as a vewira at said court Towit.
