Be it Remembered that a county court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg on the first Monday in August it being the seventh day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & forty Eight & in the 73rd year of American Independence. Present and holding said Court the Worshipfull THOMAS J. CONNELL Esq. Chairman of said court SAMUEL McDAVID, A. B. STALCUP, SILAS FERRELL, THOMAS NASH, SOLOMON N. SNOW, WILLIAM MILLER, HENRY WYNNE, CHRISTIAN COBB & H. P. STRAWN Esquires Justices of said court Z. B. PHILLIPS Sheriff of said county & JAMES H. DOYLE Clerk of said court when the court proceeded to business
On a Motion and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court here that ASA GREEN has departed this life intestate. It is ordered by the court that THOMAS J. CONNELL be appointed Administrator of all and singular the goods and chattles Rights & credits of said deceased... with JOHN WYNNE & DAVID GREEN his securetys...
Issued 8 August 1848 Ordered by the court that GEORGE MILLER be appointed overseer of the Pond Creek Road...
Ordered by the court that GUY S. JONES be appointed overseer of that part of the Road leading to the Turnpike... and that he have the following hands Towit GEORGE M. Issued 10th August 1848 Ordered by the court that THOMAS PEARCE be appointed overseer of that part of the Dyersburg Road...
This day was produced ---? into open court a deed of conveyance from JNO. R. SMITH to CRESU--? J. KEY for three hundred and twenty acres of land lying in the state of Texas and County of Gonzales about twelve miles north west from the Town of Gonzales on the waters of Plum Creek and the ex---? thereof was proved by SAMUEL McDAVID & M. R. HILL two of the subscribing witnesses.
Issued 11th August 1848 Ordered by the court that WILLIS DAVIS be appointed overseer of that part of the Road leading from HENRY WYNNE to the Trenton Road East of G. R. MULHERENs and that he have the following hand Towit DEMPSEY CHAMBERLIN, ISAAC R. DAVIS, D.
