Dyer County Court Clerk Minutes Dated April 1, 1850 |

Be it Remembered that a County Court was begun and held for the County of Dyer State of Tennessee at the Court House in the Town of Dyersburg on the First Monday in April it being the first day of said month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty & in the 74th year of American Independence. Present and holding said Court the Worshipful THOMAS J. CONNELL Chairman of said Court, ALEXANDER B. STALCUP & SAMUEL McDAVID quorum Justices, HENRY P. STRAWN, JOHN G. H. WILSON, THOMAS NASH, HENRY WYNNE, SAMUEL WALKER, SAML G. GILLESPIE & JOSEPH N. PIERCE Esquires Justices of this Court present. WILLIAM A. DAWSON Sheriff of this County and JAMES H. DOYLE Clerk of said Court when the following proceedings were had Towit:
The appointment of F. G. SAMPSON as Deputy Clerk of this court is this day Revokes &c.
Issued 2nd April 1850 This day JAMES F. FERRELL administrator of the Estate of DENT FERRELL deceased made Return of an Inventory and an account of sales of said Estate which was received by the court & ordered of Record.
On a Motion to allow EDWIN EUDALEY Ten dollar & fifty three cents for Repairs on the Court House windows one third of all the Justices of this court being present those voting for said allowance were Esquires CONNELL, McDAVID, STALCUP, NASH, WILSON, WALKER & GILLESPIE so said allowance was made & ordered to be paid by the County Trustee.
This day ASA GRIFFIN & others heretofore appointed Jury of view make their report Towit
Issued 2nd April 1850 Ordered by the Court that CLEM N. CURTIS be appointed overseer of that part of the Jackson Road, commencing at JOHN WARRENS & work to the county line and that he have the same hands to work on said Road under his direction that worked on said Road under WILLIAM W. BIGGS resigned...

This day EDWIN A. McCORKLE & R. A. H. McCORKLE Administrators of JEHEAL M. McCORKLE deceased made return of an Inventory of said Estate which was received by the Court & ordered of record.
On a motion and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court here that THOMAS BULLARD has departed this life intestate it is therefore ordered by the Court that GAIDI BULLARD be appointed Administrator of all and singular the goods & chattles claims & papers of said deceased whereupon the said G. BULLARD came into open court here with EDWIN C. BUTLER his security and entered into and acknowledged bond...

There were an allowance of Twelve dollars & fifty Cents allowed JESSE CLARK for Taking care of & providing for a Pauper child of this county for the year 1849 & omitted by the Clerk to Record & I have issued the allowance to said CLARK &C
