Directions to cemetery:

The “Hardin Cemetery” is located on the Beasley farm near Friendship, across the county border near the Hawkinsville Community in Dyer Co. The cemetery is in the middle of a cotton field and was very overgrown when I was there 2 years ago. I found 12 tombstones, but there may be others I was unable to locate.

1. A flat stone overturned with the top broken off. This stone is believed to be that of John lawrence Hardin due to the location near Rebecca Hardin and the only readable date of 1878. John Lawrence Hardin b. April 09, 1795 d. September 04, 1878 was the son of Martin Hardin and Mary Burgess. He was the husband of Rebecca Cabell.

No name available.

No pompous marble to thy name we raise
This humble stone bespeaks thy praise
Parental fondness did thy life attend
A tender father and faithful friend.

2. A flat stone (J. C. Crawley Brownsville Monument Co.) broken across the date with pieces leaning against a tree. Rebecca Cabell was the wife of John Lawrence Hardin.
