John Alfred Robertson Will Probated September Term 1896 M. Book "T" page 580 Know all men by these presents that I , JOHN A. ROBERTSON of the County of Crockett and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and disposing memory and conscience of the fact that all human beings must sooner or later die - I make the following as my last Will and testament revoking all other wills if any here - to fore made by me - Viz.. First: I direct that all my Just debts and obligations be met and full discharged by my Executor whom I will hereafter nominate - as soon after my departure as practicable. Second: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife REBECCA ROBERTSON for and during her natural life or Widowhood the tract of land where I now live "to wit" 140 acres in the 11th Civil District of Crockett County Tenn. Bounded on the North C. F. CARUTHERS, South by Pond Creek West by Dr. D.A. WALKER, (Wardland) and East by W. N. ROBERTSON. To have and to hold for herself and the children who reside with her during her widowhood and in case she does not remarry then during her natural life. Third: I give to my said wife REBECCA on the same terms as above described in Section 2d All of my personal property of every description - Stock notes, moneys account, farming implements, and all other property of every description that I may be legally seized and possessed of during her widowhood. Fourth: I give and bequeath to my children whom I will name the reversionary interest is said described 140 acres of land, and also the personal property remaining on hand at the death of their mother, or at her remarriage, if such should be the case. Which I don't in the least apprehend. The said children as refered to are FRANK D., JAMES, MORIAH, NOAH, LUKE, ZULA, ASA, AND JULIUS ROBERTSON. Fifth: I direct that in case of the marriage of any of my said Children and they or either of should die before distribution of my said estate then that portion to remain and be divided betwen those who are alive at the time, and that the same together with the reversionary interest in said land be equally divided. I would further direct hower that where the proper time arrives to divide said property both real and personal, if it is situated so that an equal division cannot be had in stind so as to be manifestly to their interest, that my Said Executor, be and he is empowered to sell any or all of said property real or personal on such terms as he thinks most advisable and make deeds to the purchasers, and divide the proceeds among my said equally as named in the foregoing.
Sixth: I nominate FRANK D. ROBERTSON my Son as my Executor to this my last will and testament Given under my hand this April 8th 1895.
