ISAAC M. JOHNSON SR. - Will - Probated November Term 1879 Minute Book "B" Page 697 I ISAAC M. JOHNSON of the County of Crockett State of Tennessee, being on the point of taking a trip to Middle Tennessee, and knowing that life is uncertain and death certain, do make the following special bequest (to wit) In the "fall" of 1864 I bargained to A. A. WHITE & wife, the house & lot on which they now reside, in the town of "Alamo" for the sum of three hundred & fifty ($350) dollars and since which time there have been mutual accounts between us, that I wish balanced in full between us, and I give and bequeath to MARTHA A. WHITE, wife of said A. A. WHITE (my Daughter) for her sole use and control, and her disposal, the said house & lot and all the improvements thereon, to be in no wise under the control or disposal of her said husband. Having educated and made thorough business men of seven (7) sons by my first wife and being disirous that my son ROBERT. E. LEE JOHNSON by my second wife, shall have the same advantages of an education, I hereby set apart the proceeds of my house & lot in the town of "Alamo" in which my office is at present situated, to be rented out & controlled by my wife M. M. JOHNSON, from year to year, and the proceeds of which, to be applied to the education of my son the said R. E. LEE JOHNSON, until he receives such an education as will be satisfactory to my wife M. M. JOHNSON and my son DR. DANIEL C. JOHNSON, together with W. A. JOHNSON, then to be sold and divided among all my children. If my wife should deem it best to marry again, thou, in that case it is my desire that my son DR. DANIEL C. JOHNSON take control of the said house & lot, rent it out, and superintend the Education of my son the said R. E. LEE JOHNSON. The remaining portion of my estate I desire to be divided among all my children, share & share alike as prescribed by law, and leave it with the County Court, to appoint an Administrator, with this will annexed.
