WILLIAM H. JELKS Will Probated November Term 1881 MB 404 I WILLIAM H. JELKS make this my last will and Testament... Mentions: I give and bequeath to my daughter SOPHIA COOK free from the control of her husband... land lying and being in the 5 civil district of Crockett County Tenn. known at the MONTAGUE land containing 67 acres more or less, also the first piece of land I bought of JOHN BELL adjoining the MONTAGUE land above mentioned on the South and containing about 95 acres more or less... I give and bequeath to my daughter ALICE READ free from the control of her husband... land lying and being in the civil district No. 5 Crockett Co. Tenn. and being the same I bought from JOHN BLAYDES containing 70 acres more or less... I give and bequeath to my daughter CLAUDIA JELKS free from the control of her husband (if she ever marries)... the MORTON tract of land lying East of Bells Depot about two miles containing 102 acres more or less bounded by the lands of W. S. WILLIAMS, WILLIAMS, COZART, T. E. NOEL and B. S. JONES heirs. I give and bequeath to my three sons LEMUEL ETHELDRED and WILLIAM my farm known as the ELROD farm containing 293 acres more or less... bounded by MARGRAVES, J. P. SIMMONS, ELISHA FARROW, and BRIDGER... also the remainder of the land I bought of JOHN BELL, bounded by I. H. TURPIN, WM. BELL heirs, the Forked Deer river and the BELL land given to my daughter SOPHIA COOK. I direct that the family at the Homestead in Bells Depot shall have the right and privelege of supplying themselves with fire wood from this piece of land so long as they remain at the Homestead. I give and bequeath to my wife NICY A. and my children by her the W. W. BOYAKIN [Boykin?] farm lying in Crockett Co. Tenn bounded by ELI BOYAKIN, HENRY PEARSON heirs, and JACK BOYAKIN heirs... also fifty acres of land off the west end of my Madison County land... also my home place on which I now live (The home-stead).
