Thomas HUDGINGS I Thomas Hudgings of the County of Crockett and State of Tennessee Being of sound mind and disposing memory DO hereby make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all others by me made. 1st I wish, after my death, my funeral expenses together with all of my just debts to be paid by my Executor out of the first money that may come into his hands. 2nd I give my wife Lucy E. HUDGINGS one thousand dollars in money to be her own forever to do with as she may please. I also give fifty acres of my land, including my dwelling house and outbuildings, during her life or widowhood and at her death or intermarriage with anyone, the said land to be sold on a one and two years credit and the proceeds when collected equally divided between my four living children (to witt) Mary F. ARMES, Laura T. MASON, Samuel E. HUDGINGS & Daniel W. HUDGINGs. 3rd I also give my wife Lucy E. my Sorrel mare Toby, my buggy, harness, side saddle sewing machine,one feather bed of her own choice and necessary clothing for same, my wardrobe, lounge and trunk the one she bought, also my clock 4th I desire my wife Lucy E. to keep use and hold all of my household and kitchen furniture in her possesion for the space of one year after my death before the same is turned over to my executor to be sold.Also that her family that may be living with her at my death to be furnished with one year's support out of my entire estate before distribution is made of the same. 5th I give my son Thomas HUDGINGS widow A.P. HUDGINGS, one dollar and that shall be her entire share in my estate. 6th I give my grandson Dandridge L. HUDGINGS, provided that he is living at my death, two hundred and fifty dollars and that shall be his entire share of my estate and if not living at my death this gift is to be void and for nothing held. 7th I give my son Thomas HUDGINGS children each that may be living at my death one hundred dollars a piece and that shall be their entire share of my estate. 8th I give my son Horris H. HUDGINGS widow, Susan A. Hudgings, one dollar and that shall be her entire share of my estate. 9th I give my grandson Robert E. L. HUDGINGS ( son of H. H. HUDGINGS ) one hundred dollars and that shall be his entire share of my estate. 10th I give my son Dandridge D. HUDGINGS widow, Parmelia HUDGINGS, one dollar and that shall be her entire share of my estate. 11th I also give the four remaining children of my son Horris H. HUDGINGS, one dollar a piece and that shall be their entire share of my estate. 12th The remaining portion of my land that I may die siezed and possessed of I wish the same to be sold by my Executor on one and two years credit and if he may think best to subdivide the smae so as to bring the best price. And all my personal property to be sold on one years credit and the proceeds of the sales together with whatever money and notes I may have on hand not heretofore disposed of in this my will, Equally divided between my following named children, daughters and sons, (to witt ): Mary F., Laura T., Samuel E. & Daniel W. 13th And lastly, I nominate and appoint S. S. Watkins my Executor of this my will and testamentto carry out the provisions of the same. Given under my hand this 23rd day of March 1876. Thomas (his X mark) HUDGINGS
