Lieut. Robert White--The body of Lieut. Robert W. White, son of Mrs. Vieva White of Humboldt, arrived in Jackson Monday where services were held. Lieut. White was born and reared in Jackson where he was graduated from Jackson High School and Lambuth College. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in March 1941 and served until March 1942, when he transferred to the American Air Force. He was killed as he attempted to land a fighter plane at an English base, which had been badly shot up on an escort mission over Berlin. Lieut. White was a grandson of the late Pierce Wilson of Alamo.
