Humboldt Courier-Chroncle Gibson Co., TN Friday December 14, 1923 ITEMS FROM ROUTE 10--MRS. TOM WEBB, nee JAMES, aged 47 years, after long suffering with cancer, died Monday evening, Dec. 10, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alex HOLLAND, of Benton County and was buried Tuesday afternoon in the family cemetery four miles west of Humboldt. Besides one aged brother, William Henry JAMES; and three aged sisters, Misses Susan, Margaret and Jenny JAMES; three daughters, Mrs. George NETHERY, of Crockett County, Mrs. Alex HOLLSND, of Benton County, and ???, of Haywood County. Coupled with the sorrow of this death is the grief and anxiety felt by the children over the disappearance of their aged father, MR. WEBB, who continuously watched and waiting by his suffering companion until his mind became so distracted Saturday evening that he slipped out of the house and away unobserved into the night. His whereabouts are still unknown. Friday, December 21, 1923: COXVILLE--MR. WEBB, aged & feeble, who very mysteriously disappeared more than a week ago at the time of his wife's illness & death, had not been found at last account. Nancy E. James was born Dec 17 1850, died Dec 10 1923, and is buried in the James Graveyard. |
