The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, January 8, 1948 Vol. 15 No. 45 Services for Mrs. Joe S. Vaughn were held at the Lebanon Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Sunday morning. The Rev. W. T. M. Jones of Gates officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with Sudbury Funeral Home in charge. She was 82. Mrs. Vaughn died at her home Friday morning. She was born in Crockett County and was the wife of Joe S. Vaughn, retired farmer. She was a member of a pioneer Crockett County family and a member of the Lebanon Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves three sons, Lyle Vaughn of Halls, Asa Vaughn, employed by post office at Halls, and Bernard Vaughn, Lafayette, La.; one daughter, Miss Ada Vaughn, Halls; a brother, Asa Dean of Crockett Mills; a sister, Mrs. Nora White of Halls. Sarah Frances Dean was the daughter of George Waller Dean & Frances J. (Fanny) Conyers. She was born 22 Aug 1865, died 2 Jan 1948. She married Joseph Speed (Joe) Vaughn 24 Dec 1889 in Crockett Co. |
