The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, January 15, 1948 Vol. 15 No. 46 Just a week after the death of his wife and on his 82nd birthday, Joe S. Vaughn, widely known retired Crockett County farmer, died at 8:45 Friday night at his home in Halls. Born in Crockett County, Mr. Vaughn farmed there all his life until his retirement two years ago when he moved to Halls. He was a former school board member and belonged to the Woodmen of the World and Lebanon Methodist Church. He leaves three sons, B. D. Vaughn, Lafayette, La., Asa Vaughn, employee of the Halls post office and J. L. Vaughn of Halls; his daughter, Mrs. Ada Vaughn, Halls and his brother, Ike Vaughn, Maury City. Services at 11 a.m. at Lebanon Methodist Church near Halls, Rev. W. T. M. Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Sudbury Funeral Home in charge. |
