FATHER OF FRANK THOMPSON DIES ... Services for Henry G. THOMPSON of Bells, merchant and civic leader and father of R. Frank THOMPSON of Memphis, and formerly of Halls, were held Saturday afternoon in Bells, burial in Bells Cemetery. He died of a heart attack Friday at his home in Bells. He was 67. Born in Crockett County, formerly was operator of the H. E. THOMPSON Dry Goods firm. Retiring in 1929, he re-entered business some ten years ago. His first wife, the former Eddie Mae NEIL, mother of Frank THOMPSON, died seven years ago. He leaves his second wife, Mrs. Ruth WELSH THOMPSON, and a daughter, Mrs. Cortez PIERCE of Bells.

H. E. Thompson Passes Away

Services for H. E. Thompson were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the First Christian Church in Bells with the Rev. Frank Perry, pastor of the Christian Church officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. James P. Irion, pastor of the Bells Methodist Church. Burial in Bellview Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson, who was 71 died at his home at 8:30 Friday morning following a heart attack. He was married to Miss Eddie Mae Neil in 1895, who passed away in 1928.

He was a prominent merchant of Bells, a member of the Church Board and Elder of the First Christian Church. In 1937 he was married to Ruth Welch of Stanton, Tenn., who survives him. He is also survived by two daughters, Claire Thompson and Mrs. Cortez Pierce of Bells; one son, Frank Thompson of Memphis; one grand son, Frank Thompson, Jr.; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Booth of Maury City.

Mr. Thompson had many friends throughout the county.
