Joseph Ellis Taylor, 82, died suddenly at his home just outside Bells, late Wednesday, November 27, 2002. He was the son of the late Raymond Lee and Rosa Lela Sullivan Taylor. He served in Africa and Italy during World War II, was wounded in Italy, and received the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Algie Lee Taylor, and by an infant son. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mattie Lou Johnson Taylor and four daughters: Nelda Jernigan and husband, Bobby, Bells; Wanda Woosley, Nashville; Connie Hasson, Knoxville; and Sue Ellen Emison, Bells. He leaves seven grandchildren: Catherine Jernigan Dillon and husband, Roger, Robert Taylor Jernigan, Amy Johnson, Sheridan Taylor Hasson, Carrie Hasson, Ray Brandon Emison, and Robin Emison. Services were held Saturday, November 30th at Bells Funeral Home with burial in Belleview Cemetery. |
