The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, May 27, 1948 Vol. 16 No. 13 Billy Stallings dies in California after operation--The people of Humboldt were saddened Wednesday when news reached here of the death of little Billy Stallings, 11 year old son of Dr. and Mrs. H. B. Stallings. He passed away at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, Los Angeles, Calif., at 10:30 (Central Time) Wednesday morning following an operation, which had been performed with the hope that it would restore him to normal health. Billy, because of his sweet and patient disposition, was much loved by all who knew him. He had been in delicate health all of his life, which endeared him all the more to his parents and older brother, Herman Ray. The devotion and love, which they had for Billy was well known and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to them in their sorrow. In addition to his parents and brother, he is survived by his grandmothers, Mrs. H. H. Stallings of Friendship, and Mrs. Jasper Privett of Crockett Mills. Funeral services were held at the family home in Humboldt Friday at 2 o'clock and were conducted by the Rev. S. R. Woodson, assisted by Revs. King Dickerson, Hayward Highfill and J. B. Porter. ----Humboldt Courier-Chronicle The many friends of Dr. and Mrs. Stallings in this county deeply sympathize with them in their loss. They were both reared in Friendship. |
