Humboldt Courier Chronicle January 29, 1931 Johnny Sawyer Dies Suddenly Johnnie Sawyers, about 47 years of age, died rather suddenly at his home southwest of Humboldt Saturday evening. The Doctor had been called to see him soon after noon and found him in a bad state, but he was not thought to be in a very serious condition. At about 6 o'clock he died. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D.D. Woody Sunday afternoon, after which the remains were buried in Salem churchyard. Deceased is survived by his wife and four children. He was a successful farmer and was well-known throughout the southern section of Gibson and the southern and eastern parts of Crockett County. His many friends regret his death.
