The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, July 10, 1947 L. F. Potts Services for L. F. Potts, 85, well known resident of Friendship will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Church of Christ in Friendship, with Elbert Young, minister, officiating. Mr. Potts died Tuesday night at the home of his son, Walter Potts, gin operator in Friendship. Mr. Potts was born in North Carolina, moving to Gibson County at an early age and for a number of years made this his home. He has made Friendship his home for the past thirty years where he was engaged in several lines of business and farming. He retired from the grocery business a few years ago. His wife died a few years ago. One son and two grand children, Mrs. C. R. Crowell, of Charleston, Ill., and Mrs. Williams M. Thompson of Friendship, also great grand children and one niece, Vici Rice of Memphis survive. He was a son of the late Daniel Potts, Baptist minister, who came very near the century mark before passing. |
