The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, May 23, 1946 Mrs. Bula Pennington Mrs. Bula Pennington died Friday at her home at 1230 Linden Avenue, Memphis, at the age of 69. Mrs. Pennington was reared in Friendship, daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Grounds. She had lived in Memphis for a number of years. A daughter, Mrs. J. O. Cofer of Kennett, Mo.; two sons, Fred Yancey of Broderick, Calif., and T. J. Yancey of Memphis; a brother, Ira Grounds and a sister, Mrs. Oma Phillips of Hot Springs, Ark., survive. Also four grandchildren, Mrs. Arthur Pitts of Friendship Mrs. Butler Clark of Tigrett, T. H. Stallings, Bolivar and Dick Stallings of Mobile, Ala. Mrs. Pennington had many friends in Friendship, her girlhood home. She lived here the greater part of her life. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Memphis. Funeral services were held at the National Funeral Home in Memphis by Rev. W. C. Aden and a brief service at the grave in Mt. Zion cemetery where the body was interred. |
