The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, May 13, 1948 Vol. 16 No. 11 Walter Scott Morton--Services for Mr. Walter Scott Morton, who died at Webb-Williamson Hospital, Monday, May 10th at 9:30 a.m. were held at the First Christian Church at Crockett Mills Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Frank Perry officiated. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery. Sudbury Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Morton had been in failing health for some time. He was 67. Mr. Morton was born in Crockett County and spent most of his life in and near Crockett Mills where he was in the farming and mercantile business. He was loved and respected by his friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kate Maxwell Morton; two sons, Carlton of Henderson and Aubrey of Crockett Mills; two daughters, Mrs. Walton Shearin of Milan and Miss Chastine Morton of Crockett Mills; two sisters, Miss Beulah Morton of Crockett Mills and Mrs. Alice Roberson of Neboville; one brother, Horace Morton of Elizabeth and several nieces and nephews. |
