G.A. McAlister, 101, of Halls, retired farmer and land owner, died 9 a.m. Tuesday in Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg.

Services were set for 2 p.m. Thursday in Miller's Chapel Church of Christ, of which he was a member, with burial in Friendship. Halls Funeral Home in charge.

He leaves his wife, Ruth Tibbs McAlister; a son, Nathan of Destin, Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Joy Vick of Dyersburg, Mrs. Mary Nell Gehle of Baton Rouge, La.; a step-son, Don Pleasant of Brookhaven, Mississippi; two step-daughtersm Mrs. Teresa Berry of Dyersburg; a brother, Jim McAlister of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Tula Richardson of Lytle, Texas and Mrs. Lola Ange of Friendship; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

buried: Belle Vernon Cemetery in Friendship
