The Courier-Chronicle Humboldt, Gibson, Tennessee, USA 10 January 1957 Funeral Services Held Tuesday for L. H. Jones Funeral services for L. H. Jones were held Tuesday afternoon (8 Jan 1957) at 2 o'clock at the Central Avenue Christian Church conducted by the Rev. W. E. Cunningham, pastor and the Rev. Frank Perry of Selmer. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Bells. Mr. Jones, who was 71, died Sunday night (6 Jan 1957) at his home. He had been in failing health for several months. Born and reared in Crockett County, the son of the late J. H. Jones and Frances Thompson Jones, he had spent most of his life in Bells, where he was engaged in the mercantile business. He had lived in Humboldt for 20 years and was owner of a barber shop here. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ella Hess Jones; three sisters, Mrs. E. C. Pittman, Alamo, Mrs. W. T. Poston and Mrs. W. A. Griffin, both of Maury City; two brothers, Joe Jones of Maury City; and Clevie Jones of Alamo.
(L. Hezzie Jones married Ella Vaden Hess, daughter of Nelson Irvin Hess and Sidney Nimon Layton on 25 December 1912. She died 14 January 1978).
