The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, October 31, 1946 James Glenn Jones, 6, Passed Away Saturday James Glenn Jones, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jones of Alamo, died Saturday night at the Baptist Memorial hospital in Memphis. James Glenn had suffered from lukemia for several months. Everything possible was done by parents and friends in an effort to save his life. Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. a large crowd of sorrowing friends gathered at the Christian church to pay their respects. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. J. B. Porter of Humboldt, E. R. Vaughn of Alamo, and A. C. Carpenter, of Alamo. Burial was in Alamo cemetery under a blanket of flowers. Ronk Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his parents and two brothers, Joe and Bobby, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Fewell of Crockett Mills and Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Jones of Alamo. James Glenn was one of the most popular little fellows in town. He made friends easily and everyone loved him for his genial disposition. He will be greatly missed by his legion of friends. |
